Honoring John H. H. Maxwell
Funding for this Boone County Fairgrounds Web site is being provided from the estate of the late John H. H. Maxwell
This web site is dedicated to the memory of John. H. H. Maxwell, well known for his benevolence and service to his fellow man, his community and his Country. Mr. Maxwell owned an operated a dairy farm and two-story house located on what has come to be known as the 220 acres most citizens of Boone County, since 1992, know as the Boone County Fairgrounds.
The Youth, FFA and 4H activities were of tremendous interest to John
H. H. Maxwell and he enjoyed all of the livestock and machinery events
that took place throughout the years. Mr. Maxwell was very active in
the Oakland Christian Church and believed in “going the extra
mile” to help others.
The Boone County Fair stewards, taking inspiration from John Maxwell,
strives to continue his legacy and challenges all Fair goers, citizens
of Boone County and other fellow human beings to “match”
the generosity, spirit and interest as exhibited by individuals like
John H. H. Maxwell. Thank you Mr. Maxwell!
